The National Action Plan for Preventing Violent Extremism seeks to identify and prevent violent acts aimed at promoting extremist ideas or ideologies. The Action Plan has been prepared and will be implemented as part of the Government Resolution on the Internal Security Programme. In this Action Plan, violent extremism refers to a radical ideology, doctrine or extreme idea, devoted to fomenting anti-democratic, illegal acts and policies aimed at achieving fundamental social change. In the Action Plan, extremist violence refers to illegal activities or violence motivated by an extremist view of the world that can, at its most extreme, also lead to terrorism.
