In 2021, labour market training was attended on average by 21,200 students, which is 900 (4%) more than in 2020. During 2021, 48,800 new students began labour market training, representing an increase of 700 on the year before. The number of those having completed the training totalled 32,900, i.e. 1,500 less than in 2020.
Of those entering labour market training, 50% were men and 50% women. A total of 5,000 of those having entered training, i.e. 10% of all entrants, were under 25 years of age. The share of over 50-year-olds was 19%.
Of those entering labour market training in 2021, some 70% were unemployed (excluding lay-offs); the corresponding figure for 2020 was 71%. The share of lay-offs was 4%, in 2020 likewise 4%. Of those who entered labour market training, 5% were people with disabilities or long-term illnesses. Foreign nationals entering training represented some 160 nationalities. The share of foreign nationals was 40%.
In 2021, the average duration of labour market training came to 4.4 months (4.6 months in 2020). The price of a student workday of labour market training acquired for 2021 averaged EUR 45.2, up EUR 0.3 on the previous year.
Of those having completed labour market training in 2021, 49% were employed for two months after the end of training. This is 9% more than in 2020.
